💸 Refund Policy
Plain-English refund rules for everything you pay Sorted Car for.

This policy covers refunds for products billed by Sorted Car directly — dealer subscriptions, independent-seller listing credits, boost credits, and featured placements.
It does NOT cover car purchases. Sorted Car is a marketplace — the actual sale happens between you and the dealer (or private seller). Any refund on a vehicle is governed by that party's own terms.
2. Dealer Subscriptions
Monthly and annual dealer subscriptions are refundable within:
- 7 days of the first-ever subscription on the account, AND
- no listings have been published under the subscription during that window.
After 7 days, or once the dealer has published any listing under the plan, subscriptions become non-refundable. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from Dealer Settings → Billing — the current period continues until expiry but no further charges occur.
Plan downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. We do not pro-rate partial months.
3. Listing Credits (Independent Sellers)
Listing credits are refundable only if they remain entirely unused and the request is made within 14 days of purchase. Once a credit has been spent on a listing (even a draft that was later cancelled) it is no longer refundable.
Credits granted by the Sorted Car team (free quota, promotional credit, support top-ups) are never refundable and have no cash value.
4. Boost Credits
Boost credits push a listing to the top of relevant search results for a fixed window. They are refundable within 24 hours of purchase only if the boost has not yet started. Once a boost is active, the credit has been consumed and cannot be reversed.
If a boost campaign is interrupted by a Sorted Car outage longer than 4 hours, we will automatically restore the affected portion as a credit on your account — no request needed.
5. Featured Placements
Featured placements are non-refundable once the placement period has started. Before it starts, you may cancel for a full refund.
We reserve the right to remove a featured listing at any time if the underlying car violates these terms or our content policies (e.g., misleading photos, withdrawn registration). In that case we will refund the unused portion of the placement.
6. Car Purchases
Sorted Car is not a party to any car sale. Test drives, negotiations, and the final transaction happen directly with the dealer or seller. If you need a refund on a vehicle you purchased through a Sorted Car listing:
- Contact the dealer or seller directly — their refund / return policy is binding for the sale.
- If the listing materially misrepresented the car (false miles reading, undisclosed accident history, fake VIN), please also report it to us. We'll investigate and act on the listing, but we cannot refund a price you paid to a third party.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund:
- Email billing@sortedcar.com from the address on your Sorted Car account.
- Include the order ID, the product, and a short reason for the request.
- We may ask follow-up questions (especially around listing credits) to confirm the credit hasn't been consumed.
- Decisions are emailed within 3 business days.

8. Processing Time
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. The exact arrival time depends on your card issuer or wallet provider — Sorted Car has no control once the refund is released.
If you paid by bank transfer, refunds may require additional documentation (account proof, IFSC/IBAN/SWIFT) before processing.
9. Chargebacks & Disputes
Please write to us before filing a chargeback. Almost every refund request can be resolved within 3 business days through this policy — chargebacks tend to freeze the account while the dispute is open, which delays everyone.
Accounts found to be filing repeat or fraudulent chargebacks may be suspended.
